How to crop a photo into a heart

  • Drop a photo, paste an image or choose a file from your device.
  • Drag the photo under the frame. Zoom with the slider, wheel or a pinch, and adjust its orientation if needed.
  • Choose the output size and format, check the preview and save your image.

Keep faces below the notch between the two upper curves and above the narrow lower point. For a couple, a little space between and around the faces makes the composition easier to fit. Move the photo before increasing the zoom so the heart does not cut away too much.

Heart photos for cards and wedding designs

A heart-shaped crop works in anniversary cards, wedding stationery, family collages and small keepsakes. Use PNG with fill off to overlay the picture on an invitation or coloured background. The image is cut to a heart without adding text, stickers or a watermark.

Save as PNG, WebP or JPEG

The file is square even when its cutout is not. PNG keeps the area outside the frame transparent with the fill switched off. WebP can do the same if your browser can write it; otherwise this tool saves PNG. JPEG fills the background with your chosen colour.

Choose 512, 1024 or 2048 pixels for different display sizes. Full keeps the available detail in the cropped area, up to 4096 pixels. Enlarging a small photo cannot recover missing detail. Your image stays in the browser, with no account, advertising or upload.
