How to crop a photo into a cross
- Drop a photo, paste an image or choose a file from your device.
- Drag the photo under the frame. Zoom with the slider, wheel or a pinch, and adjust its orientation if needed.
- Choose the output size and format, check the preview and save your image.
This cross has four equal arms and square corners, like a plus sign. Its narrow central area is best for a small subject, while the arms can show color or texture. Keep essential details away from the four corner cutouts.
Cross-shaped photos for graphic compositions
Use a cross crop to create a geometric photo accent, a patterned tile or a visual in a presentation. Export PNG without fill to preserve the four transparent corner areas. A simple outline can keep the silhouette clear over a busy background.
Save as PNG, WebP or JPEG
The file is square even when its cutout is not. PNG keeps the area outside the frame transparent with the fill switched off. WebP can do the same if your browser can write it; otherwise this tool saves PNG. JPEG fills the background with your chosen color.
Choose 512, 1024 or 2048 pixels for different display sizes. Full keeps the available detail in the cropped area, up to 4096 pixels. Enlarging a small photo cannot recover missing detail. Your image stays in the browser, with no account, advertising or upload.
