An atlas of nights.
Every date has its own light. Choose a night to see its phase, or look further ahead.
The next four turning points
The same moon, a different point of view.
Phase instants are shared around the world; the date on your calendar depends on your time zone. Switch the view to see the southern orientation. The lunar surface uses NASA’s LROC mosaic with calculated lighting; it does not simulate your horizon or libration.
Phase times are calculated locally with Meeus’ lunar algorithms and an estimated conversion to UTC. Treat them as approximate to a few minutes. Illumination is estimated between the principal phases. Calendar range: 2000–2050.
